*In the original novel by Gaston Leroux, Christine is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes, yet in most versions of the story, she's shown with dark hair and brown eyes, or dark hair and blue eyes.

* It is generally believed that Mary Philbin was the first actress to portray Christine, opposite Lon Chaney, in the 1925 silent film; However, there was a German version of the story - Das Phantom der Oper - from 1916, and though I haven't received confirmation one way or the other about this yet, the actress' name may have been Aud Egede Nissen.

* Sarah Brightman originated the role of Christine on Broadway.

* Emmy Rossum was only sixteen years old when she was cast as Christine for the 2004 film.
